Roof Replacement for Green homes and buildings
Green Township's newer homes have reached the age where many of their original roofs are worn out. Replacement on these houses is usually a clean project: tear off to the deck, replace any damaged sheathing, install ice-and-water membrane at eaves, valleys, sidewalls and skylights, correct ventilation and install architectural shingles. The details that make the difference are flashing at walls and skylights and ventilation over vaulted rooms.
Older farmhouses and hamlet homes are different projects, with board sheathing and older framing that need attention during tear-off. We cover both kinds of house and discuss what we find openly.
Asset Roofing & Chimney is licensed and insured and specializes in shingle and flat roofing. We serve all of North New Jersey from Cliffside Park, replace skylights and roof hatches as part of the job when needed, and give free estimates.
Green housing
Green's housing is weighted toward single-family homes from the 1970s through the 2000s, many of them two-story colonials and contemporaries with multiple gables, skylights and prefabricated fireplaces in framed chases. Older farmhouses and hamlet homes remain along the original roads. Asphalt shingle is nearly universal on houses.
Weather & exposure
Green's rolling hills mix wooded lots with open fields, so some homes are shaded and debris-prone while others take wind across cleared land. The township has the county's cold winters, heavy snow and long freeze-thaw season.
When replacement is the right call in Green
For most Green Township homes we recommend architectural shingles with a high wind rating, ice-and-water membrane at eaves, valleys, sidewalls and around skylights, metal drip edge, kickout flashing at every roof-to-wall termination and balanced ventilation. On wooded lots, algae-resistant shingles reduce staining. If you have cedar or metal, we can assess and advise; shingle and flat roofing is our specialty.
The process starts with a free estimate that includes the attic. On the job we protect landscaping and siding, keep the site organized, and finish with a full cleanup and magnetic nail sweep.
