Roofing and chimney work in Oradell
Oradell is a residential borough on the Hackensack River, home to the Oradell Reservoir and its dam. Its older streets have a strong stock of pre-war homes, including center-hall colonials, Tudors and Dutch colonials with their distinctive gambrel roofs, on tree-lined lots, along with post-war capes, ranches and split-levels in later sections. A small downtown near the train station has mixed-use buildings with flat roofs.
From our Cliffside Park base, we serve Oradell for asphalt shingle and flat roofing and the full range of chimney work. Pre-war houses with steep and unusual roof shapes call for care with the details, and we explain our findings clearly. Estimates are free.
Housing in Oradell
Oradell has a substantial share of pre-war single-family homes, including colonials, Tudors and Dutch colonials with gambrel roofs, many with brick chimneys and fireplaces. Post-war capes, ranches and split-levels fill later neighborhoods. Mixed-use and commercial buildings with low-slope roofs are concentrated in the small downtown.
Weather and exposure
The Hackensack River and the reservoir run through the borough, and low-lying areas near the river can see flooding in heavy storms. Mature trees shade most residential streets, filling gutters and valleys and keeping north slopes damp. Steep Tudor roofs and gambrel roofs shed snow differently from ordinary gables, and freeze-thaw cycles are hard on the older brick chimneys.
