Roofing and chimney work in River Edge
River Edge lines the east bank of the Hackensack River just north of Hackensack, and it is home to Historic New Bridge Landing, a Revolutionary War-era site along the river. Most of the borough, though, is a quiet residential community built largely in the decades after World War II: Cape Cods, colonials, ranches and split-levels on regular suburban lots, with commercial buildings along Kinderkamack Road and the Route 4 corridor.
Asset Roofing & Chimney serves River Edge from our base in Cliffside Park. We repair and replace shingle roofs on the borough's homes, handle flat roofs on its commercial buildings, and provide full chimney service. We are licensed and insured, and estimates are free.
Housing in River Edge
River Edge is mainly single-family, with a housing stock that is largely post-war: 1940s and 1950s Cape Cods, followed by colonials, ranches and split-levels, along with some older homes and later rebuilds and additions. Most have moderate-pitch asphalt shingle roofs and a single brick chimney. Commercial buildings along Kinderkamack Road and Route 4 have flat or low-slope roofs.
Weather and exposure
Neighbourhoods closest to the Hackensack River are lower and can stay damper, with river-valley fog and humidity. Mature trees shade many streets, dropping leaves into gutters and keeping north slopes damp. Expanded Cape Cods, with their dormers and finished upper floors, are prone to ice dams and attic condensation in winter.
